Open your curtains

You tried to be brave, to stand in the dark,
You sought to engrave on the world a small mark,
You failed to place a firm seal on your heart,
But you kept on hoping.

To reach for the stars as you thought you once could,
To glory in dance as you first understood,
To peak with the music as you everyday would,
But you kept on hoping.

To fly and to soar, make your name to be known,
Not despise, but be proud of all your existence has shown,
Is it too much, should your steep ideals be overthrown?
Still, do you keep on hoping?

To unbreak the broken, blue heart that you hold,
To shake it so hard that it starts to grow cold,
To take it, and throw away all its secrets exposed,
Do you keep on hoping?

For self to make sense and self to be strong,
To remould all your rights from a run away wrong,
To know that you dear, are loved all along,
But you keep on hoping.

We’ll continue to brawl with the soul sucking ghost,
Fighting and rough with our fists round its throat,
Squeeze with dear life until death it is choked,
Yes we keep on hoping.

For peace to open it’s curtains for me,
You believe you’re disturbed, precious, sorrowful girl,
You and I, we want nothing else but be freed,
Be released from the terrible jaws of the world.

Peace, open your curtains for me,
You are light, in you there’s no bitter darkness,
It is for freedom that you have set us both free,
With unfailing love, pour out yourself upon us.

Peace, open your curtains for me.
